Climbing Complex

Our 50-ft tower can accommodate a group of any size. The unique construction of our tower allows for all levels of expertise to take part. The smaller climbing wall was designed at a leaning angle with the young, old, and beginners in mind. The vertical wall contains many routes including overhangs and ledges. Our rappel deck allows our staff to provide rappelling instruction to any novice in a safe and controlled environment. For the young at heart, a 50-ft cargo net is available for climbing. Our tower also boasts 3 zip lines! Try the high solo zip or race your teammates or friends on the dual zips.

sahalie adventure challenge center

Sahalie is Western Pennsylvania’s only indoor high ropes course and climbing facility. The 6000 sq. ft facility includes a 10 element team-based high ropes course that can easily facilitate a dozen participants at one time, several climbing walls, 4 ground-up adventure challenges, leadership reaction course stations and room for large group initiatives. We can easily facilitate up to 50 individuals inside the facility at one time. Sahalie is also heated for groups that wish to come during the cold winter months!

Low Ropes Course

Our Low Ropes Course was designed to engage individual abilities and tie them into a team challenge. Participants need to learn the idea of working together to solve a physical problem that may be easy to one individual, but very difficult for an entire group. Twelve different events make up the course and range in physical difficulty. Our facilitators reflect on what was learned with the completion of each event with every group. This helps groups to learn how they function as a team, allowing them to find ways to be more effective. In order to be successful on the Low Ropes, all group members must function as a team.

Conference Center

Leadership Reaction Course

The High Ropes Course focuses on both the individual challenge and the team challenge. Overcoming fears and leaving individual comfort zones are all part of the high ropes experience. Conquering these handicaps helps individuals and groups to recognize and get rid of areas that block individual and group development. While expanding personal comfort zones, team members still rely on the support and trust of their coworkers throughout the course. The course is made up of twenty events averaging 25-35 feet off the ground.

The Conference Center is a beautiful building constructed in 1937. The main dining room easily seats 80 to 100 individuals for dining, meetings or events. The upstairs apartment levels have five bedrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen to accommodate any needs. The rustic setting and nearby stream make the environment peaceful. It is also connected to a main road as it is located on route 985 just 4 miles from our camp and a quarter mile from our lodges. High speed internet and technology to facilitate any meeting or conference are included.

Outdoor Odyssey’s uniquely-designed Leadership Reaction Course (LRC) consists of a wide variety of challenging elements, readily adaptable to your organization’s specific mission. The LRC, low to moderate in impact, challenges participants to tackle uncertainty while incorporating and leveraging strengths and differences of team members. An unparalleled tool for development of leadership and team-building skills, the LRC enables organizations to embrace change and uncertainty through development of effective communications and problem-solving skills.

The Chow Hall (or dining hall in most venues) is where most meals are served. The indoor and outdoor dining area easily seats 200 and is operated year round with a professionally run restaurant style kitchen. We pride ourselves on delivering top notch meals in several price ranges.

the cabins

We have 17 different cabins on our main camp. Each cabin is situated with plenty of bunk beds, sleeping 20 to 26. Two of our cabins are large bunkhouses that operate year-round with heat and bathrooms making winter teambuilders comfortable for any group.

The Lodge & adirondack

Our Mountain Valley and Adirondack lodges are located at our lower 80 acre property, just 4 miles from main camp. The lodges offer more amenities and comfort to those groups looking for more than a spartan cabin. Many groups take advantage of the lodges while visiting for an overnight teambuilder

ampitheatre

The Ampitheatre is where graduation is held every Saturday. It can accomodate 500 people at a time. Many hearts swell with pride and a sense of accomplishment in this special little clearing! The Amp is a great area for groups to hold bonfires during their stay!

Bear Cave is a privately-owned area located about 45 minutes away from camp. We take particular groups here to further their bonding and individual development. We are very lucky to be the only outside group allowed to venture into the cave!

Obstacle Course

Our O-Course is designed for groups of all ages to work together as a team. While challenging, it is a safe and motivating challenge that can be adapted from elementary, university to corporate age groups.
