Opportunites Abound for Committed Corporations
The Outdoor Odyssey Youth Mentoring Program operates on our high-adventure camp at Roaring Run, located just a couple of miles up the road. Since 1999, the program has trained hundreds of high school students in a five-county area to mentor young children from their own communities. Since the beginning, we have been able to offer the program at no charge to the children and mentors with whom we work due to the support of schools, businesses, and individuals who share in our mission.

Book An Off-Site
For Your Company When you stay at Mountain Valley Lodge for a corporate off-site, your experience helps support the Youth Mentoring Program at Outdoor Odyssey, the non-profit organization which owns the property. Combine your lodge stay with a corporate teambuilder on our camp and you'll discover how this experience can encourage creative problem-solving, verbal and non-verbal communication, and teamwork.

Become an Umbrella Mentor
If your business has a team of individuals who wish to contribute their time to impact young children, becoming an umbrella mentor might be the answer. Umbrella Mentors are adults who agree to take a couple of teams under their wing, offering support to the mentor, checking on team progress, perhaps even offering to take the team out for pizza. Umbrella mentors help ensure that the mentor/camper relationship is a strong one.

Help Support Your Local Schools and Churches
Every year, high school and college clubs, organizations, sports teams and church youth groups, participate in teambuilding experiences at Outdoor Odssey. Groups learn problem-solving skills, improve communication, develop teamwork, learn to overcome obstacles in their own lives, as well as help others do the same. You can support these students [and their teachers too] by helping to underwrite the cost of a teambuilder. All profits are used to sponsor children in the Outdoor Odyssey Mentoring Program.

Sponsor a Team
Sponsor a team of young campers and their mentor for a week of high-adventure summer camp. The bond that forms during their camp experience provides the foundation for a strong mentoring relationship that continues throughout the school year.

Share Your Resources
Our mentoring teams are always looking for activities which allow them to spend time together. If you have access to tickets for movies, sporting events, festivals, or seasonal activities like snow tubing, we would love to be able to offer them to our teams.

Because of people like you, mentor leadership training and the year-round experience for mentors and their teams of young campers are available free to all participants. If you'd like additional information, call us at 814.629.6516.
